Sertoma Centre has been named a 2003 United Way Metropolitan Agency of the Year by United Way of Metropolitan Chicago.
Janet Froetscher, president and CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago said, "Congratulations on winning the 2003 United Way Metropolitan Agencies of the Year award! Sertoma Centre's hard work and commitment will impact the lives of thousands of people in need throughout metropolitan Chicago."
Melanie Jones, director of advancement and communications, accepted the award at United Way's Celebration Event March 1 at the Harris Theatre for Music and Dance, Millenium Park, Chicago. The event provides United Way an opportunity to recognize individuals and organizations throughout Chicagoland who have partnered with the agency to improve people's lives.
Gus van den Brink, executive director, said, "Sertoma Centre is honored to be recognized by United Way. We receive financial support from south and southwest suburban United Way members. Their kindness, along with the generosity of all those who donate to United Way, makes a tremendous difference in the quality of services we can provide."
